A rod end bearing, also known as a heim joint (N. America) or rose joint (U.K. and elsewhere), is a mechanical articulating joint. Such joints are used on the ends of control rods, steering links, tie rods, or anywhere a precision articulating joint is required, and where a clevis end(which requires perfect 90 degree alignment between the attached shaft and the second component) is unsuitable. A ball swivel with an opening through which a bolt or other attaching hardware may pass is pressed into a circular casing with a threaded shaft attached. The threaded portion may be either male or female.

Product Description

Rod end bearings, also called heim joints or spherical rod ends, are articulating joints that are attached to the ends of tie rods, steering links, and cylinders to provide a transfer of motion and force between two points. They consist of a spherical swivel with a cylindrical bore through which a bolt may pass pressed into a housing that has a threaded shank. Rod end bearings are used in applications such as steering linkages, agricultural machinery, and textile manufacturing equipment, and off-road vehicles.


Rod Ends SA..T/K specification

- Rod body with right or left-hand female thread.
- It is made up of a maintenance-free radial spherical plain bearing G..PW and rod body.
- Surface of rod body zinc plated.


Application:

Joint bearings are widely used in hydraulic engineering, metal forming machine tools, construction machinery, automation equipment, automotive shock absorbers, irrigation machinery and other industries.


  Rod end bearing consist of an ball-shaped head with integral shank forming a housing and a standard spherical plain bearing, or a spherical plain bearing inner ring, or a spherical plain bearing inner ring and a sliding layer between the bore of the head and the inner ring.

¶  Normally, rod ends are available with left or right-hand female or male threads.

¶ Rod ends from WERB have the sliding contact surface combinations steel-on-steel, steel-on-bronze, steel-on-PTFE composite material, and steel-on-PTFE fabric. 

¶  Some rod end types require lubrication, and other types are maintenance free. 

¶  Besides, zinc/chrome/nickel/multicolour can be plated on its shell as customer's need.
